Education
Education has always played an integral role in my life. I've been able to now be on both sides as both a student and a teacher, and it's made me realize that I will always be a lifelong learner. I will always strive to learn more to improve society with the knowledge I have to the best of my capability. I'm excited to share with you my findings and results from teaching in the classroom and hope that it will share some insight on the kind of inclusivity I fostered amongst my students and how they have been the inspiration to my future career endeavors.
Teaching Philosophy
Everyone should have the opportunity to pursue a quality education, and I believe education is the liberation in freedom for students to make goals and decisions for themselves and their communities. My role as a teacher is for students to apply content in a real-world application to explore solutions to problems. With this comes the responsibility of creating an inclusive learning environment by building a community of trust and respect amongst classmates and teachers. I ensure that I give my students my authentic and honest self and advice so that way they feel safe and welcome to share whatever is on their minds. I live my day making sure that every action and every word that I proclaim is one that could be memorable forever.
After working in a Title I School since August 2020, I have found my public education experience to be vastly different from my students. The population of students that I work with requires ample amount of modeling, providing direct success criteria, and clear and explicity instructions. We live in a world where academic success is centered around assessment data. At the end of the day, I want my students to know that I have high expectations in their growth and ability, but I need for them to believe in themselves first because every student can succeed and can learn.

Affirmative Alphabet
Part of my classroom environment was to instill a common set of values that students can work towards growing every day and to feel a sense of community. Affirmations were my way to share with students what I truly believe in while providing twenty-six different reasons why they can be successful.

Science Menu
Part of providing enriching content is empowering students with choices to choose how they would like to demonstrate their learning. Over the year, I created different Science Menus based on the unit for students to showcase their knowledge in their preferred learning style. Students were able to be creative and use critical thinking skills to make real-world applications to the content.
